Payton’s Project (Freeze Bullying for Payton)
Anti-Bullying Scholarship Program
Payton’s Project has launched an ongoing college scholarships program for outstanding students who have persevered while experiencing bullying/cyberbullying and for those who have demonstrated efforts to create “Freeze bullying/cyberbullying” in their schools and communities.
- Attend a public high school in Prince William County, Virginia (12 schools). Or Rockingham County, Virginia (6 schools) or anywhere in the United States. One, $1000 scholarship will be given to each High School in both counties and 2 scholarships will be awarded in any other state. Total of 20 scholarships will be awarded.
- High school seniors.
- Identify and discuss your efforts to combat bullying in your school or community. Please attach a less than 5 minutes video or essay (not to exceed 2 page, 12pt single spaced).
- Obtain a written recommendation from member of the faculty or staff at the school in which he or she is enrolled. This recommendation is to serve as validation that the applicants’
words and actions promote an environment of acceptance and tolerance of differences within the school community.
Scholarship funds will be sent to the university where the student enrolls and can be used for tuition, books, room and board.
Our hope is to honor students that, like Freeze Bullying for Payton, aim to promote awareness, education and positive change in response to the issues surrounding bullying and cyberbullying.
Email for questions, submissions or how we can get scholarships in your area! Deadline for submission will be February 10th, 2017.
